No, it's not the rather obtuse name for the seventh Harry Potter book, but rather a disappointing side effect of the Harry Potter mania that seems to be sweeping the world...

British tabloid The Mail on Sunday revealed in an article on April 10 that Katie Leung, the 17-year-old Scottish actress playing Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, has become "a hate figure for obsessive fans" on the Internet.

As her father says in the article :

"It is rather frightening when you see things like "hate Katie." It is incredible, really. I can't make sense of it, although I know how popular Harry Potter is. Katie is only 17 and hasn't even appeared on film. No one knows her, has seen her or heard her speak, yet there are all these things on the Internet."

I mean, don't get me wrong, I think it's great that there are so many sites like this that discuss the minutae of Harry Potter in such detail, but I think that a hate campaign like this is totally uncalled for. Give the poor girl a break, she's just trying to do her job! Yeesh, relax people!
